How to Identify the Quality of LED Explosion-Proof Lights with the Naked Eye

Due to the low production threshold for LED explosion-proof lights, many have started manufacturing them. However, experienced individuals can still distinguish between lights produced by legitimate factories and counterfeit versions (i.e., those entirely handmade in rental spaces). Now, I’ll teach you how to visually identify the quality of an LED light.

1. Look at the Packaging:

Standard LED explosion-proof lights are typically packaged using anti-static disc packaging, usually in 5-meter or 10-meter rolls, sealed with an anti-static and moisture-proof bag. In contrast, counterfeit LED lights, in an attempt to cut costs, may forgo the use of anti-static and moisture-proof packaging, leaving traces and scratches from label removal visible on the disc.

2. Examine the Labels:

Genuine LED explosion-proof lights often use bags with labels and reels instead of printed labels. Counterfeits might have inconsistent standard and parameter information on their imitation labels.

3. Inspect the Accessories:

To save money, legitimate LED light strips will include a user manual and standard guidelines, along with connectors for the LED strip. Inferior LED light packaging will not include these add-ons.

4. Check the Solder Joints:

Conventional LED explosion-proof lights made using SMT patch technology and reflow soldering process have relatively smooth solder joints with fewer welding points. In contrast, subpar soldering often results in various degrees of tin tips, indicative of a typical manual welding process.

5. Observe the FPC and Copper Foil:

The connection between the welding piece and FPC should be noticeable. The rolled copper close to the flexible circuit board should bend without falling off. If the copper plating bends excessively, it can easily lead to solder point detachment, especially if excessive heat is applied during repairs.

6. Assess the Cleanliness of the LED Light’s Surface:

LED strips produced using SMT technology should appear clean, free of impurities, and stains. However, hand-soldered counterfeit LED lights, no matter how clean they appear, will often have residues and traces of cleaning, with the FPC surface even showing signs of flux and tin slag.
